The Consortium for Battery Innovation (CBI) is the world’s only global pre-competitive research organisation funding innovation in lead batteries for energy storage and automotive applications. CBI has delivered this cutting-edge research for over 25 years with its global membership of battery manufacturers, industry suppliers, research institutes and universities, setting the standard for advanced lead batteries and the next generation of energy storage. CBI has been one of Tiyeni’s partners, alongside Loughborough University, in developing Aftrak, a low-cost, solar-power tractor designed to empower smallholder farmers through Deep Bed Farming.
