How football helped Tiyeni's farmers

In 2018 a group of first year students from the University of Worcester, on the University's Business Challenge module, ran a 'FIFA for farmers' fundraising campaign raising hundreds of pounds. A tournament with prize vouchers was organised at the local library and as many people as possible were invited to take part in Looking for Worcester's best FIFA player!

Malawi is fanatical about its football, which is one of the reasons why the team felt that holding a Fifa 18 event would be an effective means at raising awareness. Tiyeni's members and farmers let students know about their favourite footballers and football teams as well as sharing their roles and responsibilties working for Tiyeni. Football is an incredible sport bringing everyone together even when they live over 5000 miles apart

Thank you to the five students who ran this campaign in support of our charity beneficiaries.
