DARS evaluation of Deep Bed Farming (2020)

Malawi’s Department of Agricultural Research Servies (DARS) conducted an official assessment of Deep Bed Farming, comparing it to multiple widely-practiced farming methods. Deep Bed Farming demonstrated a statistically significant improvement to maize and biomass yields, while increasing soil moisture retention. Read more

An investigation into Malawi’s compacted soil layer (1999)

This study, which was highly influential in the development of Tiyeni’s Deep Bed Farming method, confirmed the widespread presence of a soil layer in Malawi restricting rainfall infiltration and root development. Read more
